Cross sections
Cross sections bug me a little bit, especially when I am inferring things, it makes me feel bad. I don't really know whats there... it feels like being dishonest, but you use a dashed line and that's real data. It makes me wish I could drill all the way through the earth and REALLY see whats going on.

I know I'm commenting on an OLD post, but I just came across your blog and have been reading snippets and getting drawn in.
I was in geophys. grad. school in the mid-late 70's and did a lot of field work. Reading your blog sort of brings all those fun days back for me. Such a free time!!
