Optimism in field work

I try to be optimistic. I find it especially helps when in the field. Not that I am totally superstitious but I find when everyone is in a bad mood things tend to go wrong. So I personally try to lift everyone's spirits. I think of it as over compensating.

This trip once we got everything set and were headed up the hill I told everyone that everything would be running all the stations working data collection would go well and we would be back at the hotel and sitting at the pool with enough time to catch some rays go for a swim and have a beer before dinner.

That is exactly what happened.

Good bit of field work.

Good people.

But also good to be home! Now the fun part comes looking at all the data we have collected! We already found one signal today that looks beautiful!
